Although, at this point, your username has probably been chosen already,
we'd like to go over some username rules and why they exist.

This info covers both reasons we may have to change your chosen name and/or
things to know if you plan to request a name change in the future.

To change your user name, contact UndeadEyes.
No Special Characters

If actions need to be taken quickly against a user, we may need to look them up in the database.
When a name has special characters, we may have to copy-and-paste said character to look up the name.
This can take too much time when a quick action is needed.
It can also look messy and unorganized, or as if the site might be glitching.

To keep things simple, we will not be allowing any special characters.
No Similar Names to other Users
To avoid confusion, we do not allow users to have the same name as other users.
This includes adding numbers (UndeadEyes vs UndeadEyes123) or using English vs American English (Color vs Colour).
It also includes adding 'the' (Ogre vs The Ogre).

While we understand everyone has a desire to have a specific user name, we do not want people to be confused over who is who, especially if one user is getting in trouble while the other isn't.

When a user leaves the site, they lose their name, but depending on the reason they leave the site (willingly vs banned), we may not be able to allow other users to take the name (no user wants to be seen as that user who causes hell for others because they now have their username).
Username length

Currently, all usernames must be between three (3) and twenty (20) characters.
Names shorter or longer than the above amounts will not be accepted by the system.

In time, we may make changes to this, but for now, we have to work with what feels safest for the site.
Sadly, there are people who will abuse the system with obscenely long names that can cause issues.
No Abusive Names or names with Swear Words

Any names that could cause extreme discomfort or be seen as abusive to other users is not allowed.
Any swearwords in names will also be removed.

Examples:
BitchBeater/DogKiller/RapeHappy

While we may be an 18+ site, we want to be seen as a decent and, somewhat, classy site when it comes to our public forums.
No Confusing/Misleading Names

If your name could cause confusion, it will not be allowed.

One type of confusion are names that are a jumbled mess of words, such as 1212ababababa12.
Another type of confusion are misleading names that could mistake you for an admin or moderator, such as Moderator of Hope / Admin of threads.

These sort of names will not be allowed.
No Obscene Names

If your name is too obscene or gross, it will not be allowed.
An example of this could be BleedingVagina, DickWarts, AnalCrud, etc.
Custom Titles
(12/25/2020)

Every user can add a custom title to their name, to give your profile a little flare.
All rules above for usernames still apply toward your custom title.
The character limit is set to fifteen (15).

Do not
use the custom titles to post links or advertise.
We offer both a content creator forum and a spot in your profile to post your website link.
What happens if my name must be changed?
If your name must be changed, you will be contacted by an admin and explained the reason why your name must be changed.
You will have twenty-four hours to pick a new name before an admin must pick one for you.
If you feel it's unfair, you are free to explain your reasoning to the admin, but their say is final if they don't agree.
