Hello, Writing Home Beauties!
As some may have noted in a status I'd made, we have been working toward getting the BBC Code working properly for floating images.
So, as of tonight, they are ready for use!
So, you may be asking; 'what does a floating image mean?'
Well, what you're used to seeing, when you post an image with text, is the text always going at the bottom beside the image.
Example: Non-Floating
You See text here. Which, on its own, is...kind of annoying for people who like to make a layout look...even.
So, this is what a floating image allows.
Example; Floating Image
Now, you can write your text and have it float beside the image as you're seeing here. It works really well and I'll show you how to use it as we continue down this thread. You will want to pay attention to this, as it can be a little deceptive when using the code.
However
That
is
why
I'm
here!
Let's
get
to
it!
In our Rich text Editor (the bar above the box where you write your messages that allows you to bold and change colors of your text, you will now see two arrows pointing left and right.
When you click these you will see these code (dependent on which to click;
Now, on first look, you might think "Oh, put the image link after the '=' sign. No. Don't do that.
Instead, put it between the closing and opening brackets in the middle.
However, don't do it by itself or it becomes a media image.
You need to actually use the image code inside the floater code.
Here's an example of the owl image from above in the floater codes.
If you do not do the image code inside the floater codes, you will get this.
Not quite what we're going for, is it?
However, now you understand how to use a floater code.
And yes, you can float to the right as well.
To achieve this, it's just replacing left with right or clicking the arrow that points to the right. Really, it's simply and I think you're all smart enough to figure it out. However, if you have any questions, feel free to post here and I'll assist how I can.
And before you ask, yes, you can do this too.
I'M QUEEN OF THE SQUIRRELS!
And if you don't get what I mean, I mean, writing with an image on either side with text in the center. All that's required is doing both of those codes as described above before writing any text (you have to center the text though to get it to look like this still.
Enjoy!
