Hello, Lovelies of Writing Home!

Note: This concerns the 1 x 1 forums ONLY.
It does not concern any other category or forums.

After talking with a few founders and users, we have decided to move forward, in the next day or so, with implementing a new style of bumping.
As was mentioned on another thread, it came to our attention recently that there was an add-on that allowed bumping via the press of a button instead of physically writing 'Bump'. As many know, a bump, when done before it should be, is considered spam due to our desire to keep the rotation of threads fair.
The button achieves the same thing as the physical form--moving the thread up--just without the messy thread.

Where we, as a site, became concerned was how to implement this new bumping while making sure our users cannot still physically write 'bump' (as we'd now have to consider them ALL spam and remove them). This was considered a lot of work and more than we wanted to handle as we continue to grow. We know many wouldn't even see the button and would continue to bump their threads incorrectly.
Unfortunately, the only way to stop people from making this mistake is to completely stop people from posting inside their thread beyond the first post.

This posed its own problem as we know some users want to be creative and divide their threads into sections. We also know some people like having a spot to write down updates. Our ultimate goal will be to, in the future, hire someone to build this add-on for us that will allow us to limit the thread creator to 5-posts (deletion available to add more) while correcting bumps per usual but within a limited amount that can be done.

However, until we can find the means to do this, we will instead be implementing the bumping with a limit of one post (the initial post).

HOWEVER, we don't want to stop or limit creativity. We don't want to take away spots for updates.

So, what we will be implementing with it is the ability to contact UndeadEyes about adding another post.
As an Admin, UndeadEyes can still post even in areas where posting is not allowed. She can also swap ownership of threads and post.
This will allow her, when requested, to create a post and then give ownership over to the thread creator, allowing them to edit it for their needs.

Obviously, there will be rules and limitations as before, but those will be discussed when the bumping feature is rolled out.

During the rollout, all secondary posts (outside split categories within the thread or a post dedicated to all updates) in user current threads will be deleted to clean the site.

If you have any questions, please contact UndeadEyes.
