She had fish before, but never fresh caught the way he was helping her prepare it. It was nice really learning something new as it distracted her mind from what was happening to her. The night went well and she had hopes that perhaps the change would not be so bad. However she knew better then to hope too much. Which was good as the next couple of days were rough on her to the point that she was barely leaving the bed. All that kept her going was knowing as long as she made it through the fever things would get better.

So on the third day when he came to check on her and she was feeling better, she smiles somewhat. "I don't feel like I am dying." She replies with a slight laugh that ended with a bit of a cough. Her cough did not even sound as horrid as it had the past couple of days either. "Maybe I'm over the worst of it?" Carefully the young woman sits up after pulling the damp clothe from her forehead that had been used to keep the fever at bay.

"That's optimistic, and naïve Yvette. Being sick is easy, you just need to have someone to take care of you." Despite his snide remark he was relieved to see that the Lycan fever had passed, it wasn't uncommon for it to kill those afflicted before they even see their first full moon. "But we've got work to do, there is a village a few hours walk from here. It's not some grand walled city like the capitals however it should have the shops we need. Get dressed, and splash some water on your face. I'll explain where we're going on the way, and Yvette there should be fresh clothes in the dresser. Some might even fit you. Hunters tend to leave offerings of both aid and gratitude at safehouses." With that final bit of parting wisdom, he went off to make his own preparations. Today would be trying for of them, but the simple fact of the matter was he'd promised to make her into something more than the beast she'd been cursed to become and he fully intended to do so.

She wanted to grumble that she needed nobody to take care of her. Instead she sighs and nods when he says that there was work to do. "Alright. Just, gimme a bit of privacy here." She waited until he was out of the room to look through the dresser. Given that she had been in her clothing for a few days now the thought of fresh clothing was priceless. Yvette was more then happy to slip on some clothing she found in the form of a tunic that was similar to hers except for fitting a bit better and being a different color. Once dressed she splashes some water on her face and combs through her hair with her fingers before making her way into the small common area. "I'm ready to go whenever you are." Her old clothing was neatly folded into a bundle that she had under her right arm. No reason to throw it away when all it needed was a good wash after all and she was under the assumption that they would not be returning to the cabin after they were done in the village.

"Then we can go, but here you can put your clothes in this pack. It's also got some fish from last night. I salted some and wrapped it, there are also some berries I gathered this morning and two canteens of water I boiled last night. They should be about room temperature now." As he's informing he of this he gives a light kick to a pack, sliding it across the floor towards her, it was a simple mostly non-descript thing. Made up of fading brown leather and baring a single strap it was a decent-sized satchel. "We'll be having lunch on the road, it occurs to me that I never asked if you were local to the area. But since we're heading out now I'll just tell you that we're heading towards a village called 'Nag-Mahl' it's a small orcish settlement. Though we're only heading that direction to catch carriage to Denzche, it's a dwarven city that's recently been re-discovered and is currently being re-settled. There's a smith there of some renown and a Hunter's Lodge, I'm going to get you registered as a Hunter." He began to gather up his own packs, he hadn't changed his clothes but he'd slipped on a light-weight leather cuirass with a chain-mail mesh over it. Other-wise he was adorned in a simple red tunic and fading black trousers which were tucked into a pair of thick leather boots.

"But before you worry, I'm going to have you registered as my apprentice. We'll probably stay in Nag-Mahl until you turn as Orcs aren't as timid as most races, I'll need to meet with their chieftain to explain the situation as is custom. However, I was out here on a job for their village so you should be safe there. They might even offer some help with your transformation." Yyjorn finished collecting his packs he didn't have that many to begin with, really only having a sleeping roll and a small satchel. Grabbing his War axe he slipped its scabbard around his waist. The belt closing with a soft 'clack' before walking to the door.

The pack sliding across the floor she grabs it, slipping in her clothing before buckling it closed once more and sliding her arm through the strap. It was fairly light though she supposed that was because she was used to carrying heavier items then that. If nothing else at least it would not cause her to ache during their travels so she was grateful. "My father and I lived on his farm in the human settlement Garigill. These woods are on the edge, though I have never been in them until a few days ago when I was attacked." Thinking over his words she was going to ask what he meant about getting her registered as a hunter. But he was quick to reassure her that she would only be registered as an apprentice. She supposed that would not be a bad thing though she did not know why hunters were registered, or the protections that being registered offered.

"You think they won't have an issue with me being a werewolf then?" Surely not. Especially as he seemed to have no issue explaining the issue to their chieftain. Yvette felt odd about going to an Orc village. "I have heard of Nag-Mahl before. But in all honesty I have never left the farm. This is the furthest I have ever been from home so admittedly I am nervous. But, things are different now. And there is no point in returning." With that she nods slightly as if to reassure herself and she follows him to the door. Taking a deep breath she steps outside and looks towards the sky. The past couple of days she had been kept confined so it was nice to feel the breeze on her skin and blowing through her hair that was currently loose. Perhaps she could see about getting some leather cording to use to tie it up once they were at the village. "You mentioned getting me registered as a Hunter. Is there any particular reason as to why?"

"I never said they wouldn't take issue with being a werewolf but the Orcs are kind-hearted people despite the frankly scandalous propaganda leveled against them routinely. What most people seem to forget is that when the Ser-Nith Khanate invaded it wasn't by choice, they were being driven by Elven magic." Most people had thought of Orcs as mere myth up until about four-hundred years ago, when they returned with a fury that had never been seen before. They'd crash upon the South-Lands first, charing out from the Dune-Sea in the Hernric Sultanate. Their legions barely had time to respond, the Khanate Bull-Riders crashed through the flimsy formed defense line. Afterward, they'd taken a great deal of people prisoner, making slaves of; peasent, nobility, and solider alike. Dragging them back into the Dune-Sea vanishing, this pattern had continued for almost a decade. All across the four nations that bordered the Dune-Sea, It wasn't until a lone Orc appeared outside of the Hernric capital waving a white flag that things began to change.

She claimed to be what the Orcs called 'Shir-Al' which meant, all mother. Orcish leadership is complicated and varies depending on the tribe and size. Though it usually falls to the strongest, this 'Shir-Al' was taken before the Desert Watch a council made up of the four rulers that had suffered at the hands of the Orcs to face trial. There she explained that her people weren't acting of their own will. That a great Elven Warlock had bewitched her people, imprisoning her for decades and posing in her place. She beseeched them for help, and together they formed a plan to shattered the Khanate and free her people. After-which the Orcs scattered to the winds, settling all across the known world. But the memories of their crimes hadn't been forgotten, bewitched or not the Orcs were largely seen as strange alien creatures.

"And like I said, if worst comes to worst I'll say that instead of my payment they need to allow us refuge. They won't be able to refuse in that circumstance as repaying a debt is written into the Orcs Blood code, and to betray the code is to risk exile or enslavement." As he said this they slipped out of the cabin door. "Now hold on a moment, I need to perform the ritual of departure." Yyjorn then turned his attention to the cabin having closed the door behind him and fishing about his bag rewriting a thin metal slip that appeared almost card-like in the early-morning light. "I Yyjorn of Clan Aqnuetial herby give thanks for the shelter and lodging, and in return have left an offering of persevered honey. May your humble light guide wayward hunters and return them to the fold." While speaking, he placed the thin metal slip on the door. For a moment there was nothing, only the sounds of the forest and then there was the sound of several locks clicking and a door bar being slid into place. Finally, a dull golden glow raced up the walls of the cabin, old but sturdy magic securing it against entry. "As for why I want you to get registered as a hunter, there are two reasons. Firstly because it'll give you a protected status as a Lycan, registered Lycan-Hunters can not be attacked by Monster-Hunters. Secondly, you know how most kingdoms have those laws against people that have been turned? Being a licensed hunter circumvents those laws, so long as you are hunting class three and above creatures. And before you ask what a class three is, I'll explain all this on the way to Debzche. Finally, it's only fair that I point you've still got a chance in all of this. You can choose not to become a hunter, we can even pursue curing you if that's what you'd like to do. But that'd mean hunting down the one that turned you. Though I've a feeling that they'll come to us." He decided not to worry her with the things he'd noticed during the nights, eyes watching him go about caring for her in the distance. Always just out of reach of the light flickering from the cabins few windows.

"Well, I think I understand." Watching him perform the ritual her eyes grew wide. Never before had she seen any form of magic performed. Granted it was a basic ritual but it still left her speechless for a few moments giving him a chance to explain why he wanted her to register as a hunter. Essentially it would give her protection that she would not have otherwise. Meaning she would still be able to live a somewhat normal life rather then being forced into the wild as most were creatures were regardless of how they came to be changed. It was something she could not afford to refuse. Especially if they were to part ways one day. "I'll do it." Her voice held conviction to it. "Becoming a hunter means I will be able to help others in a way I never thought possible." Not to mention it would help her grow strong enough to defend herself should the one who turned her decide to attempt and take her once more.

"Given what he said when he grabbed me I doubt he will easily give up." Shuddering she was suddenly thankful that it was daytime. "But that is a worry for another time. Right now I need to focus on preparing for my first change." Yvette clutches the satchel, a determined look in her eyes. "I will not allow this curse to rule my life. I will use it to help others rather then to harm them. I...I refuse to become a cold hearted monster!" One thing was for certain, even after all she had been through, she was strong. Not just physically, but mentally. Yvette had a will of stone and once she set her mind on something she did not easily give up. This time was no different.

"Before any of that though, is there anyone at home expecting you?" There was no real tactful way to ask this, while it was true that her old life could be altered and she could return to it if she so chose. "Because I'm not whisking you away on some grand adventure. This isn't a fairy tale, I need to impress that upon you now." Turning to give face her he gently placed both hands on her shoulders. "If you choose to become a hunter there will be dangers that you can't even begin to imagine. You will see things that you can't even begin to relay to others. You'll only be able to find comfort with other hunters. Are you sure this is the life you want? We can simply pursue the cure, there's still time. After you change, well there's only a short window of time for turning back." He kneeled down a bit as he spoke brining himself to eye level with her.

Yvette pauses, a saddened expression on her face. "Father was all I had. He is gone though. So I have nobody to go home to." It hurt saying that out loud, but she needed him to understand why she so easily agreed to go with him. He had to know why she was not wanting to look for the cure. "If this was a fairy tale, it would be a fairly awful one." With a sigh, she places her hand on his shoulder after he knelt down in order to be eye level with her. "I am sure that this is the life I want. Even if I was to pursue the cure and it worked, I would always look back and wonder 'what if'. That isn't what I want for myself. My future was changed forever by the bastard who turned me. And I will be damned if I allow him to rule over my life." Her eyes were lit with fire within, her hands clenched into fists as she spoke. "So I am taking charge of my future. And I am going to become the opposite of what he wants. Because one day we will meet again, and when that happens, I will enjoy defeating him knowing that he will never be able to harm another ever again."

"And it may happen sooner then you think little one." Arne cooed from a nearby tree, carefully navigating his way into the pairs line of sight. He had been watching these past few days and had come to hold a begrudging respect for the man whom had taken care of his property. "Yvette, behind me." The kindness was gone from his words, a fit of primordial anger festering inside him. Slowly and with a sense of reverence, he drew his wa raxe forth. Upon closer inspection, it was of Dwarven design the head of the weapon was intricately carved. Depicting the great stone-barer, the highest of the Dwarven gods. He was doing battle with the Earth-Serpent, his own war axe lodged in the foul beast throat keeping its fangs at bay as he free hand tried to throttle it. The serpent for its part was shaking wildly trying to free itself as a great many dwarves clambered up onto it securing lines of rope to aid their high-god. Yet the hilt of the weapon was clearly human in design, curved like a karambit though not as steep. A design clearly added as to not be lost in the heat of battle with a leather noose at the bottom to offer further control over the weapon.

"Please be still hunter, I've not come to collect her yet." There was a smugness to his tone, eyes seemingly carving up the pair taking in full-stock of both. His lips teetered up ever so slightly, even in his human form there was no warmth to his smile it remained more wolf than human. Yyjorn merely stood there, slipping his hand into the noose of his weapon. "Not going to speak? Fine the listen and heed my words well." There was an air of disappointment to his tone as if he'd expected more to this encounter. "I will come for her when the moon reaches its peak. Make no mistake in that regard. But I owe you a debt of gratitude, so I'll offer you a choice. When the night of her change comes you can hand her over to me or we will do battle and you will die. So I suggest you think long and hard hunter." There was a moment of silence as the two locked eyes, as they'd both kept them on Yvette during the course of the conversation. Yyjorn having tilted his head slightly as to watch both. "For now, I bid you, farewell hunter. I will offer you the same choice once I return for her." With that there was a great rattle of the tree he'd stood on, leaves flying from it's branches as he bunded off jumping from tree to tree.

Hearing his words her face pales and she falls still only moving when told to get behind Yyjorn. She was quick to do so wanting nothing to do with Arne. She hated how he called her little one and it made her feel ill that he thought that Yyjorn would go for the offered deal. Turn her over and he would get to keep his life. Yvette had faith in the hunter. Faith that he would kill the bastard that had turned her life upside down when it came down to the two of them fighting. Though what irritated her was how the bastard only really talked to the hunter besides what he had first said in order to announce his presence. She was silent, face still drained of color the young woman practically shaking. Yvette thought that she would have had time to get some training in before he would attempt to come for her.

True, he was not coming for her just yet. But he had approached them and it made her wonder how much he had been watching them the past few days. What if knew of their plans? It made her feel sick to her stomach. She could not let him see that though. She had to be strong, had to show him that he would not control her fate. "He cannot win." She says softly. her voice trembling. "I will not let him win! I will never be his....NEVER!" A mixture of rage and pain filled her voice as she hissed out the words. It was as simple as that. She could not allow somebody to win that would use her as nothing more then a mate. She would not allow herself to be reduced to that. "I would die before I allowed him to lay hands on my body ever again!"

Yyjorn watched him go, burning his human form to memory returning his weapon to its scabbard re-latching it in place. Taking slow deep breaths letting the energy that'd begun to build dissipate. It took a moment before he could calm himself, but he managed. Then turned and drew her into a hug, without any words and just held it for a moment. Gently patting her back, an effort to reassure her and put her at ease. "No, he won't and I'd never sacrifice someone like that." His voice was gruff and distant, an after effect of his nerves going into high-alert and being prepared for a death-fight. "But enough, we shouldn't dwell here nor on him." Releasing her from the embrace he gently took her hand, not willing to chance it. While he didn't doubt the man's words, he wasn't willing to trust him all the same.

"Yvette, have you ever had any experience using a weapon?" He knew that dwelling on their encounter wouldn't help either of them. So he turned his attention onto how best he could prepare her for the coming conflict, they'd have time and resources for proper training when they reached Nag-Mahl. Though there were other issues they'd need to talk about before they got there. Orcs were isolationist and weren't afraid to enforce their culture on visitors.

She was surprised to find herself drawn into a hug, going stiff for a moment before relaxing some and even wrapping her arms around him as he patted her back. It was comforting that he held onto her hand even after releasing her from his hug. In the back of her mind she was worried that the werewolf was lying, and that he was waiting to ambush them on their way to the orc settlement. "Yes, please, let's get going. The sooner we get away from here the better." Perhaps they would be safer in the settlement meaning that he would not attempt to grab her there. At least, that was what Yvette hoped would be the case.

"Experience using a weapon? I mean, I am used to knives from when it is time to slaughter the animals. And father taught me the basics of using a sword in case the farm was attacked by beasts." She pauses for a moment, remembering the sword and wishing nothing more in the world then to have it in her hands right then. It was no broadsword, but rather more along the lines of a katana. It had been given to him in payment by a foreigner for some food. Originally he was going to sell it, instead he kept it and now that neither were at the farm it was likely long gone by this point once assumed she was not returning. Walking along, every snap of a twig caught her attention, Yvette on high alert after so suddenly being caught off guard not that long ago.

"We've got a lot of work ahead of us then." He sighed, but wasn't surprised she was a farm girl, of course, she didn't have much experience, if any with a weapon. It was easy to forget there was a life outside of traipsing through the wilds like he did. And while it was true his earliest memories were going tooth to blade with all manner of creatures besides mother he knew or at least had heard of what qualified as 'normal' lives.

The forest seemed to come alive the more they walked along, soon Yyjorn released her hand confident she was safe. At least for the moment, they had been walking for almost an hour before he speaks again. "Are you feeling hungry, if you'd like we can stop and eat or even just rest if you feel the need." His eyes drifted across the pathway they'd slipped onto half an hour back. They'd left the depths of the forest, and come across a crudely drawn pathway. Made up of earth that'd had the grass dragged away and crunched stone and broken wood tosses atop. As close to an imperial road as you'd find out here.

She nods, falling silent as they walked along. Yvette paid close attention to the path they took and only seemed to relax once they were no longer in the forest. It would be far harder for an ambush to take place on the path after all given that it did not have the cover of the trees to make it easier for a predator to strike from above. "I would like to stop, maybe have some water and a bit of something to eat before we continue." Shading her eyes she looks for a good resting spot, soon pointing to a clearing that had some stumps that seemed to have been placed intentionally. "How about there?" Yvette points it out.

Once they settled down she grabs one of the canteens and pulls off a bit of the fish before wrapping the rest up and slipping it back inside the satchel. "Is there anything I should know about the Orc settlement we are going to? I don't want to do anything that might mess up the chances of them helping us." Yvette drinks some water, wiping her mouth as she watches a bird fly overhead. "I want to avoid offending them if possible."
